Microsoft Theater SAFE

We have missed you and are thrilled to welcome you back to Microsoft Theater! The health and safety of our guests, performers, and team members is our number one priority. We have worked closely with state and local health officials to responsibly and thoughtfully implement new safety protocols to provide you not only a safe, but enjoyable experience. While it may be a bit different from the last time you joined us, we look forward to giving you a reason to cheer and creating unforgettable memories with you, once again. Be sure to check back here as information is updated often.

Health Attestation

By entering Microsoft Theater, you agree to follow the current California Department of Public Health Guidelines for Indoor Mega Events. Specifically, you attest that you will comply with the vaccination or testing requirements detailed below for entry into the event.

Per the California Department of Public Health Beyond the Blueprint, updated guidance for Indoor Mega Events and the CDPH Guidance for Face Coverings, the State requires that attendees be fully vaccinated (i.e., two weeks or more have passed since the attendee has received a single-dose vaccine or the second dose in a two-dose series) or obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to attending the event, and that unvaccinated persons wear face coverings when attending crowded indoor events.

Remember, if you’re not feeling well, please stay home!

Mobile Ticketing & Entry Process

All ticketed guests will be asked to have their tickets to the event on their mobile device.

Face Coverings Required

Guests over the age of 2 are required to wear a face covering that covers both the nose and mouth at all times, unless actively eating or drinking. Gaiters, bananas, and coverings with exhalation vents are prohibited: a face shield still requires a face covering. For the safety of everyone, guests unable to wear proper face coverings will not be admitted into the venue.

Bag Policy

Bags, backpacks, purses, totes, clear bags, fanny packs, and camera bags are not allowed.

Small clutches and wallets no larger than 5” x 9” x 1” are permitted and are subject to security inspection.

Medical and parental bags 14” x 14” x 6” or smaller are required to go through an X-Ray machine security screening. Please see a Guest Services team member on site for direction to the nearest screening entry.

We’re Fans of Clean Hands

Clean your hands often by washing with soap and water for 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer. There are touchless hand sanitizer stations, faucets, paper towel dispensers, and soap dispensers throughout the venue.

Microsoft Theater is a fully cash-free venue that only accepts debit and credit cards, including major contactless and mobile payment methods, for a safe and speedy check out. We no longer accept cash. If you do not have an accepted cashless method of payment, "Cash to Card" conversion kiosks are free of charge and located throughout the venue.

Food & Drink

All guests can order any food and drinks throughout the theater at any concession stands or kiosks located throughout the lobbies. Pick up your food and drinks at the designated pick up locations.

No Smoking

Microsoft Theater is a smoke-free venue.

GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation

Because your health and safety are our top priority, we’ve made many upgrades and enhancements to ensure that all of Microsoft Theater, even the air that you breathe, meets or exceeds industry standards to guarantee Microsoft Theater is the safest and most hygienic it can be. We use MERV-14 air filters, high-touch surfaces and heavily trafficked areas are continuously disinfected, and all spaces undergo a rigorous disinfection and cleaning after every event. We’re proud that these improvements have earned us the highest level of GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation as determined by the world’s most respected venue industry cleaning association.

Thank you for doing your part by following all our new health and safety procedures. Let’s continue to keep each other healthy as we navigate through this reopening process as responsibly as we can.

COVID-19 Assumption of Risk

In-person public gatherings and events carry an inherent higher risk of exposure to COVID-19. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease. Prior to attending a public gathering or event, please learn more about the risks involved and evaluate your individual risk level. In particular, vulnerable individuals, such as certain older adults and those with certain pre-existing health conditions, who have an increased risk for severe illness or death, need to take extra precautions against COVID-19.

Guests understand that (a) the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and any resulting disease (together with any mutation, adaptation or variation thereof, “COVID-19”) is extremely contagious and there is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any place where people are present, including without limitation, Microsoft Theater; (b) no precautions, including any protocols that may be implemented by Microsoft Theater, producers of events at Microsoft Theater, any concessionaire or caterer at Microsoft Theater, any lender to Microsoft Theater, and/or any of the respective Microsoft Theater or event sponsors or promoters and/or other third parties (such as by federal and state governmental agencies) (collectively, the “COVID-19 Protocols”), can eliminate the risk of exposure to COVID-19; (c) the risks of exposure to COVID-19 are increased by proximity to other people; (d) there is no guarantee, express or implied, that guests will not be exposed to COVID-19; (e) people of all ages and health conditions, including healthy young people, have been adversely affected by COVID-19; (f) certain people have been identified by public health authorities as having greater risk based on their age or underlying medical conditions; and (g) exposure to COVID-19 can result in being subject to quarantine requirements, illness, disability, and other short-term and long-term health effects, including death, regardless of a person’s age or health condition.  Guests also acknowledge that the COVID-19 Protocols may prove inadequate to prevent the exposure and transmission of COVID-19 and that it is possible that from time to time persons present at Microsoft Theater or at any locations in which the events may be held or where people are gathered, may not comply fully with the COVID-19 Protocols.  Guests understand that the implementation of the COVID-19 Protocols does not guarantee that guests will not be exposed to or contract COVID-19 as a result of their attendance at Microsoft Theater or pass COVID‑19 on to others, including other guests and family members of guests.  Guests understand and knowingly and voluntarily assume all such COVID-19 related risks related to attending and traveling to and from events at Microsoft Theater.  Those risks may include an increased risk of exposure to illness (including, but not limited to, COVID-19), personal injury, disability, and other short-term or long-term health effects including death, which might result not only from guests’ own actions, inactions or negligence, but from the actions, inactions or negligence of any of the Released Parties (as defined below).  Guests accept that they have personal responsibility for any and all of their respective costs and expenses, damages, liability, and other losses that they, or any of their respective heirs, assigns, executors, administrators, next of kin or other persons acting or claiming to act on their behalf,  may incur in connection with the risks described above.

Guests agree to follow Microsoft Theater health and safety policies, as well as all applicable Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) guidance, local, state and federal orders, regulations and ordinances pertaining to health and safety at all times while at Microsoft Theater. Health and safety policies may be posted throughout Microsoft Theater as well as on tickets.

"Released Parties” shall mean L.A. Live Theatre, LLC, Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc., LA Live Properties, LLC, event producers and promoters and each of their respective officers, directors, managers, members, employees, agents, contractors, sub-contractors, sponsors, representatives, successors, assigns, licensees and affiliates.

COVID-19 Testing

Please visit the County of Los Angeles website for a list of COVID-19 testing locations in your area.

COVID-19 Vaccinated Guests

Thank you for keeping Microsoft Theater Safe and for helping to stop the pandemic by getting the COVID-19 vaccination.

Unvaccinated guests (two weeks or more have NOT passed since the guest has received a single-dose vaccine or the second dose in a two-dose series) must continue to follow health and safety guidelines, including, wearing a mask over your nose and mouth and washing your hands often.

It’s important for everyone to continue using all the tools available to help stop this pandemic as we learn more about how COVID-19 vaccines work in real-world conditions. Additional information can be found on the CDC’s website - Key Things to Know About COVID-19 Vaccines.

Food & Drinks / Retail

We are working with state and local public health agencies to determine the safest way to offer food and drinks items and sell merchandise. We have upgraded our equipment to provide easy mobile ordering and new self-service kiosks when it is safe to do so. For everyone’s safety, no outside food or beverages are allowed inside Microsft Theater. Sealed, plastic water bottles, one liter or smaller, are permitted (one per guest). Be sure to check back here as information is updated often.

For a contactless experience, parking passes are now digital and can be purchased in advance on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Security Screening

Entry procedures for all guests remain contactless between guests and team members. You will be directed to place items in a plastic bin lined with Nanoseptic (anti-microbial) film and walk through a metal detector. Staff will not touch personal belongings and you will be directed to retrieve items from the bin yourself.
