LOS ANGELES, CA (March 13, 2017) – Caifanes, considered one of the most important and influential Rock bands in Spanish announce their return to Los Angeles for one night only at Microsoft Theater on Friday, October 13th – In celebration of their 30 year anniversary. Tickets for the concert go on sale Friday, March 17th at 10am through Axs.com
Caifanes formed in 1987 in Mexico City and have since helped to musically liberate new generations. Their first album, “El Negro” established Caifanes’ identity both musically and conceptually. Songs like “Viento,” and “Mátenme Porque Me Muero,” were atmospherically influenced by post-punk groups like The Cure, but the lyrics spoke to a particular kind of spirituality quickly adopted by the youth across Mexico and Latin America. “La Negra Tomasa,”broadened their appeal. “Perdí Mi Ojo de Venado” referred to an amulet traditionally worn by Mexicans to ward off evil, and spoke to the new slang and street codes engendered by a new generation.
